Background
On a beautiful Tuesday, April 21st, Tobiloba was born into a big family where she is the 5th of her mother's children. She agrees that she is surrounded by people who see the best in her, pushing her to become more in life.
Born in Ilesha, Osun state, Nigeria, Oluwatobiloba Olanigba grew up being passionate about wielding the microphone, speaking, and standing before a crowd. Tobi is goal-driven and inwardly motivated by a desire to live an impactful life that would positively influence others and etch her name in gold beyond a lifetime.
She began her academic journey in Osun State, and she eventually proceeded into Osun State University where she bagged a Bachelor's Degree in English and International Relations. At present, Tobiloba Olanigba is in the United Kingdom, running her Master's Degree in Public Relations at the University of Sunderland.
In an interview with MePage, Tobi claims to have always wanted to have indepth, life-shaping conversations with people. She mentioned that, "I knew from observations both from people around me and myself that I needed to be somewhere in the media or communications."
Tobiloba Olanigba draws her inspiration from different sources including: the word of God, her mother, her life experiences, watching and listening to women from all around the world as they speak with great confidence about crucial issues both on TV and Radio, et cetera.
In addition, Tobi admits that her story would be unexplainably incomplete without God. Although, life for her hasn't been a bed of roses, nonetheless, God has given her a voice that resounds in the hearts of men and women all over the world. In years to come, Tobiloba would have conquered more grounds, extending her boarders as a world-class, international communications prodigy.
Career
As a teenager, Tobi's passion and proficiency in communications were outstanding enough that she was already a news correspondent without formal training. In 2018, Oluwatobiloba Olanigba started out as a news correspondent and voice over artist at Petals FM, Ibadan. She interviewed people of calibre and documented some of the reports that aired during the time.
After relocating to Lagos, Tobiloba worked with Ufitfly Travel Limited - a Nigeria-based, premier travel agency dedicated to serving the travel needs of individuals and organizations. As a result of her communication skills, while at Ufitfly, Tobi worked as the Customer Service Officer, and she doubled as a Marketing Agent. She also got involved in creating jingles for the company.
Oluwatobiloba went on to work with Metropolitan Magazine as a transcription agent. She provided accurate written transcripts for oral interviews. Aside this, Tobi also worked with other people to edit and proofread books and articles.
By 2021, Tobi had started her own podcast popularly known as "Tell It All with Darling Sugar", where she also goes by the name Darling Sugar. Darling Sugar is the eloquent, high-spirited contemporary woman who talks about topical issues young people face today. "Tell It All with Darling Sugar" is a safe space where Tobi relates with her listeners on a deep level by engaging them in indepth, intellectual conversations and highlighting relevant personal experiences.
